ISLA BASTIMIENTOS 3 - BOQUETE

ISLA BASTIMIENTOS 3

Day 52 31.08.15

This morning we all slept in, enjoying the rest and some great sleep. (I did at least) When I headed down for breakfast I had their breakfast number 5, which contains eggs, sausage, bread, cheese and jam and I additionally also got a pineapple juice.

After breakfast I let everyone else leave to go to the beach and snorkelling. In the mean time I caught up with some blog writing, the Internet and other things like emails and complaining to the Mexican mail for not posting my package in time…

I literally spent my whole day in front of a computer, just catching up as much as possible.

We had a lovely dinner – I had squid this time instead of lobster, however I should have just opted for the same meal as yesterday, the spaghetti and lobster, because the squid just couldn’t compare to the lobster.

We had some more wine and one last lemonade, paid our tabs and went to sleep.

BOQUETE

Day 53 01.09.15

Today we got up early, had a breakfast; I chose the good ole banana pancakes again. Saying goodbye to the family running the hotel was tough, as we had gotten sort of close to them over our stay.

We boarded our boat and waited for one group member to turn up. He did and when he did he dropped his sunglasses into the water. Luckily it wasn’t deep at all, but everyone was hesitant to dive after it. He eventually did himself and the sunglasses rescue mission was such a funny start to the morning.

On our way on the boat we passed the place where they load the sea containers with bananas. I am sorry that the photos are not in focus but taking a photo while speeding passed the Chiquita containers proved to be quite difficult.

We drove to the ferry point where we had come from on our first day and boarded a minivan.

We then headed out towards Boquete through the rain. We got there at about 13:00 and after booking our various tours, we enjoyed a yummy yummy lunch at Big Daddys. I had pork chops with rice, beans and coleslaw.

After that we drove up to our beautiful mountain resort. It literally looks like a Swiss cottage resort, sitting in the middle of the mountains.

We enjoyed some free time and internet and then got ready for dinner. Prior to that we popped a couple of bottles of wine to get in the mood and to thoroughly enjoy our mountain hide away.

We went for dinner, I had a bloody Mary (I have recently really enjoyed them :) ) and then ravished some pasta with tomato and bacon sauce.

All together we had a lovely night, chatting and making jokes, and after realising that the most of the games you can lend from the hotel were Spanish, we just finished off sitting in our hotel rooms, chatting away.
