Day 47 26.08.15
We all got a quick breakfast in (again from a local bakery), and made our way to the public bus. We weren’t really looking forward to this leg of the journey, seeing as it would be cramped and just too hot without air conditioning. (That sounds very European, but 3 – 4 hours in a bus without such thing leaves you swimming on your seats!)
We got to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca eventually, and after a short walk got to our Hotel – Hotel Jacaranda. The hotel was full of plants and made it look like a really serene place. After dropping off our bags, we took a small walk around town and had some drinks at a place called the lazy mon.
I had a late lunch of topped nachos (great stuff!) and then hopped onto a swing that was hovering over the waves and watched the sun set. It was such an idyllic view – lovely :). It was happy hour so we did enjoy our 2 for 1 drinks and got ourselves excited for dinner.
We went back to the hotel to get ready and then headed out for dinner at Tamaras. The food was alright but we soon headed out to a bar called hot rocks. Here again there were several swings and we “swung our heart out” to the tunes of Bruno Mars. There was great live music, a local "Open Jam Night".
The boys went on to play a little pool and we joined them soon after. We talked to some of the locals and some of the tourists and had fun mixing up the pool teams.
My roommates and my night ended up driving back home sitting on the back of bikes trying to avoid the many potholes on the way.
